training: bike 1:30:18: 35.79km; Silver Spring 52°F
Today was one of those rides I did not fancy going on, but am glad I did: the rain threatened all day, but held off, until I was about 10km out that is! It was what I can only describe as an Escher ride: despite riding a circular route the wind and rain seemed always to be in my face. At many points I thought of heading home several times, but kept making revised deals with myself if I went a little farther. As my spirit faultered and I turned for home a rider passed me so I chased to get a tow. And as we traded pulls and began talking I turned away from home to continue riding with him. So my sincere thanks to a friend on a 2001 Lemond for making my ride a pleasure and a proper work out.
