Directed by Joseph H. Lewis (Gun Crazy) with cinematography by John Alton, the 1955 film follows obsessive police lieutenant Leonard Diamond (Cornel Wilde) as he wages a personal crusade against the elusive and sadistic crime boss Mr. Brown (Richard Conte). The cast also includes Brian Donlevy, Lee Van Cleef, Earl Holliman and Helen Walker.
‘The Big Combo’ newly commissioned box art

Just weeks after the 4K Ultra HD debut of the 1985 cult comedy-horror classic Re-Animator, Ignite Films and Eagle Rock Pictures are working on the 4K restoration of the film’s sequel, 1990’s Bride of Re-Animator, for release in early 2026.
The 4K UHD edition of Re-Animator is now available for purchase at Ignite-Films.com.
Restoration plans for Brian Yuzna’s sequel were announced by Jan Willem Bosman Jansen of Ignite Films and Jim Quan of Eagle Rock Pictures at the Fantastic Pavilion at the Marché du Film in Cannes.
Bride of Re-Animator will receive the same treatment as the Re-Animator: 40th Anniversary Edition — packed with exclusive new bonus features, limited collector’s packaging, and fan-favorite surprises.
Bride is set eight months after the Miskatonic Massacre, a fictional school shooting. Doctors Herbert West (Jeffrey Combs) and Dan Cain (Bruce Abbott) are back — working as volunteer medics in a Peruvian civil war. But death is only the beginning: Once home, West resumes his experiments, this time with a twisted new goal — to create life from spare parts and bring Dan’s late fiancée back as the ultimate re-animated creation.
The film was hailed for its jaw-dropping practical effects from Screaming Mad George and KNB EFX Group, the renowned special makeup effects studio behind Evil Dead II, From Dusk Till Dawn, and “The Walking Dead.”
Aside from Combs and Abbott, Bride of Re-Animator stars Claude Earl Jones, Fabiana Udenio, David Gale and Kathleen Kinmont.
The upcoming 4K UHD release of Bride of Re-Animator is the third foray into the restoration and preservation of sci-fi horror classic films for Ignite Films and Eagle Rock Pictures. Their 40th anniversary 4K UHD release of Re-Animator was released earlier this month, while the 70th anniversary 4K UHD restoration and release two years ago of Invaders From Mars was honored with many awards, including the 2024 Saturn Award for Best Classic Film Home Media Release. The release also won the Best Rediscovery of a Forgotten Film from the Il Cinema Ritrovato DVD Awards 2023 and the Hollywood Professional Association’s Inaugural Jury Award for Outstanding Achievement in Restoration.
Ignite Films and Eagle Rock Pictures are preparing an elaborate 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release of 1985’s Re-Animator to mark the cult horror classic’s 40th anniversary.
Based on a tale from H.P. Lovecraft, director Stuart Gordon’s Re-Animator follows Herbert West (Jeffrey Combs), a brilliant yet unhinged medical student who creates a serum that reanimates the dead with horrifying consequences. The cast also includes Bruce Abbott, Barbara Crampton, David Gale and Robert Sampson.
The film will make its 4K Ultra HD debut with a new restoration approved by producer Brian Yuzna.
“I’m excited about the 40th Anniversary 4K UHD Blu-ray release of Re-Animator — it looks great! Especially if you have a big screen! An excellent restoration, it is like seeing it for the first time again,” Yuzna said. “Stuart Gordon would have been super proud, and so happy that Re-Animator is still connecting with horror audiences and that this restoration is re-animating the movie in all its glorious madness — just as Herbert West intended!”
Fans can choose from four configurations of the 40th anniversary Re-Animator release, all of which include both newly produced bonus materials and legacy extras.
The two-disc standard editions will offer the film in either regular Blu-ray Disc or 4K Ultra HD formats, and include a slipcover.

An officially licensed collection of Re-Animator products will arrive in 2025 from Fright-Rags, which created the neon green serum 40th Anniversary Re-Animator logo.
“People love this film! Over time, Re-Animator has only gained more fans who understand its evergreen appeal of an outrageous story, told with humor and horror in a grand and almost operatic way” Crampton said. “To see the beautiful new 4K restoration in all its cult glory is a sight to behold. I know cinephiles will enjoy it for years to come.”
Ignite Films is celebrating the 70th anniversary of the 1953 sci-fi cult classic Invaders From Mars with theatrical screenings in Los Angeles and New York and a just-issued DVD of the restored film.

Invaders From Mars was directed by William Cameron Menzies and in addition to Hunt stars Helena Carter, Arthur Franz, Morris Ankrum, Leif Erickson, and Hillary Brooke. It was produced by Edward L. Alperson Jr. and distributed by 20th Century Fox.
In the film, a young boy named David MacLean (Hunt) is awakened during a thunderstorm and witnesses a brightly lit flying saucer dive into a large sandpit behind his house. When his father investigates, he returns a changed man; soon, David’s mother, a neighbor girl, and others begin to act in the same way. David’s begs the police for help, but he isn’t taken seriously until he is overheard by Dr. Pat Blake, who takes him to astronomer Dr. Stuart Kelston. David soon convinces Kelston, who comes to believe that this is an invading vanguard from Mars.
