Warner Bros. Pictures’ period horror film Sinners appears to be a hit with streamers on Max and HBO. The Michael B. Jordan starrer generated 1.4 million U.S. households on both platforms during the first 72 hours following the July 4 release on Max, and July 5 on HBO, according to research firm Samba TV. Viewership was boosted by an airing on HBO.
By comparison, 182,000 households rented/bought the movie during the same period following the movie’s June 3 digital retail release. Black households over-indexed by 46%.
