‘Sinners’ Tops DEG Digital Transactions Chart for Week of June 15

Warner’s Sinners was No. 1 on the DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group’s top 10 digital sales and rentals chart provided by GfK Entertainment for the week ended June 15.

The horror flick from Ryan Coogler, director of Black Panther and Creed, was released for premium digital purchase and rental June 3. In the film, trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Michael B. Jordan in a dual role) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back. 

No. 2 was again Warner’s A Minecraft Movie. The first-ever big screen, live-action adaptation of Minecraft, the bestselling video game of all time, stars Jason Momoa and Jack Black.

Remaining No. 3 was MGM’s A Working Man. The action film stars Jason Statham as Levon Cade, who left behind a decorated military career in the black ops to live a simple life working construction. But when his boss’s daughter, who is like family to him, is taken by human traffickers, his search to bring her home uncovers a world of corruption far greater than he ever could have imagined.

Maintaining the No. 4 spot was A24’s military film Warfare. The actioner, available for premium digital rental and sale, is the true story of a U.S. Navy Seal platoon surveillance mission gone dangerously wrong.

Up three spots was No. 5 was A24’s Death of a Unicorn. The horror comedy stars Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega as a father and daughter who accidentally run over and kill a unicorn while driving to a crisis management summit, leading to the discovery of its supernatural curative powers.

Down a spot to No. 6 was the 2002 zombie horror film 28 Days Later, distributed by Sony Pictures. The film received a boost from the impending July 20 theatrical release of a new sequel, 28 Years Later, the third in the franchise.
