Bad Bunny Super Bowl Halftime Show Outpacing Rival Turning Point USA Event on YouTube
February 9, 2026
The Super Bowl LX halftime performance featuring Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny (Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio), Lady Gaga and Rickey Martin, among others, generated 28.3 million views on the NFL YouTube channel within a day of the event, according to the Google-owned social video platform.
Media reports suggest Bunny’s performance had more than 135 million viewers as part of the Super Bowl telecast, ratings for which Nielsen will report Feb. 10.
By comparison, the Turning Point USA halftime event, dubbed the “All-American Halftime Show” featuring Kid Rock and others, generated 19.3 million views on its YouTube channel during the same time frame. The initial live-stream saw 6.1 million views. Organizers say that since Sunday 25 million people have watched the show, which also gained millions of views on the late Charlie Kirk’s YouTube channel and others.
The Turning Point event came about after conservative social media commentators and organizations criticized the choice of Bad Bunny, who performs primarily in Spanish.
Bunny, who had been a vocal critic of the Trump administration and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions, made no mention of the president or ICE in his Spanish-language concert, advocating instead for love and understanding.
“God Bless America,” Bunny said in English during the show, while naming nearly every country from North and South America.
TPUSA, which was founded by Kirk and is now run by his widow Erika Lane Kirk, characterized Bunny’s appearance as “culturally appropriated” and “woke anti-America.” Spokesman Andrew Kolvet stated the organization’s goal was to provide an option that felt “excellent and exciting for the entire family” during the big game.
Following its live-stream event, TPUSA confirmed that it plans to host similar show again in 2027.
