Samba TV: ‘Bridgerton’ Tops Weekly Streaming Viewership Through Feb. 1

Netflix’s “Bridgerton” was No. 1 on Samba TV’s list of top streaming programs for the week of Jan. 26 to Feb. 1. The first part of the fourth season of show creator Shonda Rhimes’s alternative look at British Regency era society debuted Jan. 29.

No. 2 was Prime Video’s The Wrecking Crew. The action movie stars Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista as half-brothers who reunite to uncover the truth behind their father’s mysterious death.

Staying No. 3 was “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” which debuted Jan. 18 on HBO Max. Set in the world of Westeros created by George R.R. Martin, the series takes place a century before the events of “Game of Thrones” and follows two unlikely heroes — a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg.

Down a spot to No. 4 was season two of HBO Max’s “The Pitt,” which premiered Jan. 8. “The Pitt” stars Noah Wyle as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, the chief attendant in Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital’s emergency room. The series follows Robby’s team during a 15-hour shift in the ER, with each episode depicting one hour. Season one was No. 9.

Up a spot to No. 5 was the second season of the Prime Video series “Fallout.” Based on the popular “Fallout” video game franchise, the series tells the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. Set 200 years after an apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind — and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them.

Down two spots to No. 6 was Netflix’s crime drama “His & Hers.” Tessa Thompson plays Anna, a reporter who’s estranged from her husband Jack, a detective played by Jon Bernthal. They’re reunited by a murder in their sleepy Georgia town: She’s reporting on the crime and he’s investigating it, but both think the other is a prime suspect.

Down from the top spot to No. 7 was Netflix’s The Rip. Starring and produced by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, the film had been No. 2 a week earlier. In the dirty-cop thriller, suspicion falls on everyone as Lieutenant Dane Dumars (Damon) and Detective Sergeant J.D. Byrne (Affleck) lead a Tactical Narcotics Team following up on a tip about a cartel stash house. The rip — a term for when cops seize criminal assets — is $20 million, and every dollar must be counted before they can leave the house, allowing time for mistrust to grow within the team.

Down six spots to No. 8 was the second season of the Paramount+ series “Landman” The show stars Billy Bob Thornton as a Texas oil company bigwig.
