‘A Minecraft Movie’ Was No. 1 Disc Seller in June; ‘Wicked’ Still No. 1 for 2025

Warner’s A Minecraft Movie was No. 1 on the top 10 list of physical-media sales for June 2025, according to Circana’s VideoScan tracking service that compiles DVD and Blu-ray transactions.
Based on the popular “Minecraft” video game franchise, the film features a cast led by Jack Black and Jason Momoa, and centers on a group of people who are sucked through a portal to the Overland, a dimension where everything is made of cubes and monsters attack at night. The film grossed nearly $424 million at the domestic box office and was released on disc June 24.
MGM’s A Working Man, distributed by Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment, took No. 2 for the month following its June 10 release on disc. Jason Statham stars as Levon Cade, who left behind a decorated military career in the black ops to live a simple life working construction. But when his boss’s daughter, who is like family to him, is taken by human traffickers, his search to bring her home uncovers a world of corruption far greater than he ever could have imagined. The film was directed by David Ayer, who co-wrote the screenplay with Sylvester Stallone. A Working Man earned $37 million at the domestic box office.
Disney-owned Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Brave New World was No. 1 on the top 10 list of physical-media sales for May 2025, according to Circana’s VideoScan tracking service that compiles DVD and Blu-ray transactions.
No. 3 was Paramount’s Yellowstone: Season 5, Part 2, which had been No. 2 in May. The collection includes the last six episodes of season five of “Yellowstone,” which chronicles the exploits of the Dutton family, who control the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States.
The top seller from May, Disney-owned Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Brave New World, was No. 4 in June. The film finds Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), the new Captain America, in the middle of an international incident and a conspiracy involving newly elected U.S. president Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford).
The No. 5 June seller was Steven Speilberg’s 1975 shark-attack classic Jaws, from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, which climbed back up the weekly sales charts thanks to a June 17 4K disc re-release that included a new 50th anniversary retrospective documentary from National Geographic. It had been No. 23 in May.
No. 6 for the month was Neon and Decal’s The Monkey, adapted from the Stephen King short story. In the film, when twin brothers find a mysterious wind-up monkey, a series of outrageous deaths tear their family apart. Twenty-five years later, the monkey begins a new killing spree forcing the estranged brothers to confront the cursed toy. It was released on disc June 24.

No. 7 was Universal’s collection of DreamWorks Animation’s three “How to Train Your Dragon” animated movies, which got a boost due to the theatrical release of a live-action remake of the first film. It was No. 17 the previous month.
No. 8 was Paramount’s Landman: Season One, up five spots from its May position. The Paramount+ show stars Billy Bob Thornton as a bigwig for a Texas oil company.
The No. 9 seller was another June 24 disc release, Disney’s live-action Snow White remake. A reimagining of the 1937 classic animated Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the update includes mostly new songs with a few classic songs from the original, as Snow White (Rachel Zegler) journeys into the woods to escape her stepmother, the Evil Queen (Gal Gadot), and meets allies in her quest to restore the kingdom and bring kindness to the land. It earned $87.2 million at the domestic box office.
Paramount Home Entertainment’s Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was No. 10 in June, dropping six spots from its May spot. The latest sequel based on the Sega video game series finds Sonic and friends clashing with Shadow the Hedgehog, while Dr. Robotnik teams with his long-lost grandfather to deploy a superweapon against the Earth.
On the year-to-date disc sales chart, the top two titles remained the same, with Universal’s Wicked remaining in the top spot, followed by Venom: The Last Dance in the second spot.
Captain America: Brave New World moved up to No. 3 for the year after sitting at No. 7 at the end of May.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 moved up a spot to No. 4, swapping places with Disney’s Moana 2, which fell to No. 5.
Universal’s Nosferatu remake slipped three spots to No. 6, while Paramount’s Gladiator II was down a spot to No. 7.
Yellowstone: Season 5, Part 2 slid onto the year-do-date top 10 chart at No. 8, a 10-spot improvement from its position a month earlier.
Universal’s animated The Wild Robot remained No. 9 for the year, while Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King, which had fallen to No. 11 at the end of May, rose back to No. 10.
Subsequently, Mubi’s The Substance and Warner’s Red One fell out of the year’s top 10 sellers list.
