‘Civil War’ Tops DEG Digital Transactions Chart for Week of June 9

A24’s Civil War was No. 1 on the DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group’s top 10 digital sales and rentals chart provided by GfK Entertainment for the week ended June 9.

The dystopian epic tracks a team of military-embedded journalists during a new U.S. civil war as they race against time to reach Washington D.C. before rebel factions descend upon the White House.

Remaining No. 2 was Warner’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. The latest “Monsterverse” installment teams the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal new threat to the world.

Down two spots to No. 3 was Universal’s The Fall Guy. Based on the 1980s TV show of the same name, the film stars Ryan Gosling as a veteran stuntman who gets entangled in a murder mystery.

Down a spot to No. 4 was Warner’s Dune: Part Two. The adaptation of the second half of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi novel finds Paul Atreides organizing a Fremen army to seek revenge against the emperor for betraying his family.

MGM’s The Beekeeper slid a spot to No. 5. The actioner stars Jason Statham as a former covert operative who embarks on a brutal revenge mission.
