Golden Globes Tallied 8.7 Million Viewers Across CBS, Paramount+, Down 7% From 2025
January 14, 2026
The 83rd annual Golden Globes generated almost 8.7 million viewers across CBS and the Paramount+ streaming platform, according to Nielsen ratings. That was down 7% from last year’s 9.3 million viewers across CBS and Paramount+.
Regardless, the awards show was the most-watched entertainment show on Jan. 11, in addition to being a social media hit with 43 million interactions — up 5% from 2025.
Repeat show host Nikki Glaser’s opening monologue generated 14 million social media interactions in the first 36 hours.
With Warner Bros. Pictures’ One Battle After Another the most-nominated film (nine noms) also winning the most awards at four, Glaser’s appreciation for the movie and 51-year-old lead star Leonardo DiCaprio didn’t disappoint.
“What a career you have had,” Glaser said addressing DiCaprio. “Countless iconic performances. You’ve worked with every great director, you’ve won three Golden Globes and an Oscar. The most impressive thing is that you were able to accomplish all that before your girlfriend turned 30.”
