Nielsen: Disney+ Animated Kids Series ‘Bluey’ Topped Weekly Household TV Streaming Through May 5

The animated kids series “Bluey” ranked as the most-streamed content across household televisions with 1.18 billion minutes consumed across 154 episodes on Disney+, according to new Nielsen data for the week ended May 5.

While the ranking marks the series’ 69th appearance on the top 10 chart, generating more than 64 billion total viewing minutes (half among kids ages 2-11), it’s just the fourth time the show has ranked No. 1.

Hulu/Netflix’s “Grey’s Anatomy” ranked No. 2 for the week with 1.11 billion minutes viewed across 427 episodes, followed by Prime Video’s “Fallout,” which topped 1 billion minutes for a fourth consecutive week, and retained the No. 1 spot among originals and No. 3 overall. With an audience that has been two-thirds male and 35% 18-34, the show’s audience makeup is very similar to another Prime Video original series, “The Boys,” according to Nielsen.

Prime Video also captured the No. 3 spot on the movies chart with The Idea of You, starring Anne Hathaway, which drove 512 million viewing minutes in its first four days of availability.

Netflix’s live-streamed special “The Roast of Tom Brady” aired from about 8-11 pm ET on Sunday of the interval, indicating that its reported 279 million viewing minutes were almost exclusively watched live — and were enough to make it 10th on the originals chart. The live event, also referred to as The Greatest Roast of All Time (a.k.a. the GROAT), was widely talked about in the following days, so it’s likely to see a much higher total in the next interval, according to Nielsen.

Seasons one and two of the CBS-turned-Paramount+ original series “Evil” were added to Netflix during this interval (with Season three hosted exclusively on Paramount+) and captured 291 million viewing minutes across 37 episodes for the No. 7 spot on the originals chart. The first episode in the fourth season debuted May 23, so viewers were perhaps revisiting or catching up on the series in anticipation of the new season.

The Jerry Seinfeld comedy movie Unfrosted drove 464 million viewing minutes in its opening weekend, and came in at No. 5 on the movies chart. About 80% of its viewers were over age 35.
