Streamers Prepare for NATPE Global 2025 in Miami Feb. 5-7

Streaming executives are gearing up for the second big trade show of the year, after CES 2025: NATPE Global, which will be held Feb. 5-7 in Miami.

The show, which bills itself as “North America’s one-stop-shop content marketplace,” brings together buyers and executives from North America, Europe and Latin America. The marketplace, which last year was attended by representatives from more than 600 companies, provides access to distribution decision-makers from leading connected TV device manufacturers and MVPDs as well as indie, boutique and independent distributors and producers.

The conference program has a number of sessions focused on streaming, including “What’s Up Next on Connected TV” (Feb. 5), in which executives from leading CTV platforms will discuss programming, acquisition, monetization and partnership strategies. The panel comes as CTV user penetration in the United States pushed past the 80% mark in the lucrative 25-40 demo. Speakers include Aden Ikram, director, content acquisitions, at Viasat; Anthony Layser, executive director, partnerships and programming, at Xumo; Vicki Liao, director, content acquisition at Roku; and Chris Regina, chief content officer at TCL North America.

The next day, Feb. 6, starts off with a Streaming+ Breakfast called “Are We There Yet,” in which key players in the SVOD, AVOD, HVOD, TVOD, and FAST spaces discuss audience trends, technology, and monetization strategies shaping the streaming market — and what’s next for the industry. Panelists include Beth Anderson, SVP and GM, FAST channels and VOD sales at BBC Studios; Greg Barnard, senior director, content acquisitions and strategy, at Vizio; David C. Graber, EVP, content sales at Warner Bros. Discovery; Katrina Kowalski, SVP, international content programming and acquisitions for Pluto TV; and Richard Young, managing director, History Hit and Fast channels, at Britain’s Little Dot Studios.

After that come two one-on-one conversations: First, an in-depth conversation with Vizio group VP Katherine Pond to learn how Vizio collaborates with streaming partners and content owners from across the entertainment landscape, and then an early afternoon “fireside chat” with Kelly Day, VP of international at Prime Video.

NATPE Global was launched in 1979 as the signature U.S. conference of the National Association of Television Program Executives, a professional association established in 1963. Over the next three decades, NATPE Global was held in Las Vegas, New Orleans, San Francisco and Houston before settling down in Miami in 2011.

The NATPE trade group filed for bankruptcy in October 2022 due to financial hardships brought on by canceled events during the COVID-19 pandemic but was rescued early the following year when Brunico, the Canadian company that produces such events as the Realscreen Summit and Banff World Media Festival, acquired several of its assets, including NATPE Global.
