July 16, 2024
Netflix and AMC Networks have signed a distribution agreement that calls for 13 original AMC series to begin streaming on the SVOD platform beginning Aug. 19.
The series include all eight seasons of “Fear the Walking Dead,” season one of “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon,” seasons one to three of “A Discovery of Witches,” season one of “Anne Rice’s Interview With the Vampire,” season one of “Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches,” season one of “Monsieur Spade,” season one of “The Terror,” seasons one and two of “Dark Winds, seasons one and two of “Kevin can F*** Himself,” seasons one and two of “Gangs of London,” seasons one to three of “Into the Badlands,” seasons one to four of “Preacher,” and season one of “That Dirty Black Bag.”
Other series include season one of “The Walking Dead: Dead City” and season one of “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live,” which begin streaming on Jan. 13, 2025.
Kristin Dolan, CEO of AMC Networks, said the deal would help drive momentum in current and upcoming seasons on AMC’s direct-to-consumer and partner platforms, including AMC+.
It’s been almost 13 years since Netflix and AMC partnered to make prior seasons of “The Walking Dead” available exclusively to Netflix subscribers in the United States and Canada. The series went on to become one of Netflix’s and AMC’s most popular programs at the time, with select future AMC and Sundance Channel programming streaming on Netflix just prior to the premiere of subsequent seasons.
“We believe this significant expansion of our Netflix relationship will drive viewership and engagement on Netflix, while also raising awareness and interest in our award-winning content on AMC-branded and partner platforms across our distribution ecosystem,” Dolan said in a statement.
