HBO Renews Spanish-Language Series ‘Rage’ for Second Season

The HBO original series “Rage,” created and directed by Félix Sabroso, will return to HBO Max in 2026 with a second season starring a new group of actresses and several returning cast members from the first season.

“Rage” is a contemporary portrait of five women willing to do anything in extreme situations such as extortion, oppression, deception, exclusion or manipulation in a single shared, contemporary universe, articulated around five conflicts that unfold one after the other, each as a consequence of the preceding one.

“Rage,” which premiered in July 2025, has been HBO Max’s most-watched series in Spain, second only to “House of the Dragon” and “The Last of Us.” The series has been hailed by critics and received numerous awards and nominations.

Sabroso, creator of the series, said he opted for new actresses and storylines for the upcoming episodes because he felt “it was riskier and more honest to offer new ideas so that the story could continue with the same strength. Even so, I don’t want to lose some of the most beloved characters from the first season.”

The first season of RAGE brought together actresses Carmen Machi, Candela Peña, Cecilia Roth, Nathalie Poza, and Pilar Castro on screen for the first time, which earned it a special jury prize for the leading cast at the European Rose d’Or Awards, which each year highlights the best television productions, as well as the Ondas Award for Best Female Performance for the five leading ladies alongside Claudia Salas and Ana Torrent.
