Comcast Says Xfinity Live-Streamed Super Bowl LX Faster Into Homes Than Other vMVPD Providers

Comcast’s Xfinity premium television service Feb. 19 announced that it live-streamed the game on its Peacock RealTime4K channel to customers’ homes faster than any other virtual multichannel video program distributor.

According to the service, internal testing showed that Xfinity customers live streaming were among the first in the country to see every moment unfold from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., as close to real-time as possible and in the best possible picture and audio quality.

Additional testing confirmed Xfinity’s feed was between nine and 49 seconds faster than virtual MVPDs, including YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV and DirecTV Stream.

“Delivering the fastest path from stadium to screen is the ultimate benchmark for live sports,” Michael Pilquist, VP of video architecture at Comcast, said in a statement. “RealTime4K builds on our network innovation to give customers not only the most immersive picture and sound, but the speed that keeps them ahead of spoilers, texts, and social media.”

With a full day of Olympics and Super Bowl coverage in RealTime4K, plus streaming coverage on Peacock, Feb. 8 marked the most-trafficked day ever for video streaming on Comcast’s network, according to the company.

RealTime4K is part of Xfinity’s ongoing strategy to redefine how pay-TV subscribers engage with live sports in the digital era. Xfinity ended 2025 with 11.3 million domestic video customers.
