‘Tron: Ares’ Streaming on Disney+ Starting Jan. 7

The sci-fi action-adventure Tron: Ares will begin streaming exclusively on Disney+ starting Jan. 7.

In the film from director Joachim Rønning, a sophisticated program named Ares (Jared Leto) is brought from the digital realm into the real world for a dangerous mission, thrusting audiences into a high-stakes clash between artificial intelligence and humanity.

Driven by cutting-edge visual effects and a musical score by Nine Inch Nails, Tron: Ares is offered with an Imax Enhanced presentation on Disney-plus, featuring an expanded aspect ratio. Subscribers with certified TVs and AV receivers can also experience Imax Enhanced sound powered by DTS, featuring the full dynamic range of the original cinematic mix.

The previous films of the franchise, 1982’s Tron and 2010’s Tron: Legacy, are already available to stream on Disney+.

Tron: Ares is currently available for digital purchase and rental, and arrives on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD disc Jan. 6. It earned $142 million at the global box office.
