FilmRise Names Katherine Weinstein Director of Content Sales and Distribution

New York City-based film and television studio and streaming network FilmRise has named Katherine Weinstein director of content sales and distribution.
Weinstein joined FilmRise in September of 2021 as part of the acquisitions department as manager of content acquisitions.
In her new position, Weinstein will be tasked with spearheading the expansion of designated AVOD accounts, nurturing client relationships through content pitching, cultivating partnerships, expanding FilmRise’s presence on selected partner platforms, and analyzing crucial performance metrics to inform sales strategies.
Weinstein will report directly to Daniel Gagliardi, VP of content sales and distribution.
“Katherine has demonstrated remarkable initiative, passion, and determination during her tenure at FilmRise,” Melissa Wohl, SVP of global content sales and distribution, said in a statement. “We are thrilled to welcome her to our content sales department. Her extensive knowledge of the company’s mission and operations will undoubtedly enhance her already impressive expertise.”

As manager of content acquisitions, Weinstein negotiated and executed complex multi-platform and multi-territory licensing deals for a variety of distribution rights including AVOD, FAST, SVOD, TVOD, and EST. These deals included content such as The Wiggles Classics library, Z Nation TV series, and Corner Gas TV series. Prior to joining FilmRise, Weinstein was OTT content acquisition team aead and acquisitions and content strategy specialist at Discovery. Before that, she was a content acquisition specialist at DLA.
