DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group Dec. 10 honored Caroline Chan, VP in the Network and Edge Group at Intel, with the 2024 Hedy Lamarr Award for Innovation in Entertainment Technology. In its eighth year, the Hedy Lamarr Award recognizes female executives in entertainment and technology who have made a significant contribution to the industry.

The 2024 Hedy Lamarr Achievement Award for Emerging Leaders in Entertainment Technology, honoring a female college student whose studies in the fields of entertainment and technology have shown exceptional promise, was presented to two students: Hope Bryant, an undergraduate at Howard University majoring in media, journalism and film, and Emelia Piane, an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan who is majoring in performing arts technology with a concentration in computer and information sciences. Each receives a financial award to continue her education. 

The awards ceremony took place at the Google offices in Playa Vista, Calif., located in the old airplane hanger for Howard Hughes’ legendary Spruce Goose.
