Lionsgate’s ‘The Housemaid’ Remains Atop U.K. Weekly Home Entertainment Sales Chart Through Feb. 25

Lionsgate’s thriller The Housemaid remained No. 1 in its second week of release on the weekly U.K. home entertainment sales chart the week ended Feb. 25.

At No. 2 was Disney’s Zootopia 2, maintaining its runner-up status since its Jan. 27 digital retail release. The animated comedy added $2.6 million in ticket sales across its 13th week at the box office.

Signature’s Dracula entered the top three. It’s a reimagining of the legendary vampire tale.

The distributor’s horror film We Bury The Dead rose eight spots to No. 4. In the film, following a catastrophic military disaster, the dead don’t just rise, they hunt.

Dropping one spot to No. 5 was Warner’s Sinners. The horror flick from director Ryan Coogler stars Michael B. Jordan as twin brothers and former mob enforcers who return to their hometown to open a blues club, which is promptly attacked by vampires.

Warner’s A Minecraft Movie surged 10 spots to No. 6. Based on the “Minecraft” video game franchise, the movie continues to prove a hit with younger audiences and long-time video game players alike.

One of the week’s biggest climbers was Sony’s Sisu: Road to Revenge, which skyrocketed 18 spots to No. 7. The action-packed sequel continues the legacy of its wartime predecessor.

Falling five spots to No. 8 was 20th Century Studios’ Predator: Badlands, which finds the sci-fi franchise bringing the fearsome alien hunter into a harsh new landscape.

Re-entering the top 10 at No. 9 was the classic movie Dogma, director Kevin Smith’s cult fantasy-comedy blending irreverent humor with theological satire.

Rounding out the chart at No. 10 was Sony’s Anaconda (2025), which slipped from No. 5. In the film, Doug (Jack Black) and Griff (Paul Rudd) have been best friends since they were kids and have always dreamed of remaking their all-time favorite movie: the cinematic “classic” Anaconda. When a midlife crisis pushes them to finally go for it, they head deep into the Amazon to start filming. But things get real when an actual giant anaconda appears, turning their comically chaotic movie set into a deadly situation.

Lionsgate Television Group Vice Chairman Sandra Stern Stepping Down in March

Sandra Stern, vice chairman of the Lionsgate Television Group and a 23-year veteran of the studio, has decided to leave her position at the end of March, she announced Feb. 19. She will continue her relationship with the Lionsgate as a long-term consultant to the TV group.

As the highest-ranking female executive at Lionsgate, Stern has been instrumental in crafting the unique and innovative business models that helped to grow Lionsgate’s television business from its indie roots into one of the leading independent television organizations in the world, delivering more than 80 scripted and unscripted series to dozens of streaming, broadcast, cable, FAST and digital media platforms.

During her tenure, her business and strategic acumen, combined with her relationships with top platform and creative partners, have enabled her to help shepherd series such as “Mad Men,” “Weeds,” “Nurse Jackie,” “Nashville” and “Orange Is the New Black,” one of the first original series for Netflix.

Stern has been a driving force in the Television Group’s recent momentum, highlighted by last year’s launch of “The Studio” (Apple TV), which won a record 13 Emmys including Best Comedy, the breakout hit “The Hunting Wives,” which debuted near the top of Netflix’s global charts, the hit drama “The Rainmaker” (USA Network), and the recent renewals of popular long-running series “Ghosts” (CBS) and “The Rookie” (ABC). Lionsgate Television has secured renewals for 12 of its 13 current scripted series.

“Sandra has been my friend, partner and protégé for the past 40 years,” CEO Jon Feltheimer said in a statement. “She is an amazing strategist with unparalleled relationships with our partners, and few people understand our business as well as she does. Sandra has been a pillar of our studio’s growth and success for 23 years. Whatever she chooses for the next phase of her career, she will remain a valued and cherished member of our Lionsgate family.”

Stern said she valued her relationship with Feltheimer, Lionsgate Television Group chair and chief creative officer Kevin Beggs, and other staff members.

“I know that I am leaving our television group in an incredibly strong position, with a great slate of series, a robust creative pipeline and an exceptional team of executives to move them forward, and I am excited to explore other passions and embark on new adventures beyond the world of television,” Stern said.

Stern played a key role in the acquisition and successful integration of eOne, adding thousands of titles to the Lionsgate library, diversifying its television slate and expanding its reach into procedurals. She also helped shepherd the studio’s collaboration with leading talent management and production company 3 Arts Entertainment, with which it partnered on “The Hunting Wives,” and its minority investment in the U.K.-based talent management company 42, where she sits on the board of directors.

A graduate and former Alumnus of the Year of the UCLA Law School, Stern is a founding member of the school’s LEAD program and serves on the Board of the Law School’s Ziffren Center, where she has also taught for the past eight years.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t

4K ULTRA HD BLU-RAY REVIEW:

Street Date 2/17/26;
Lionsgate;
Action;
Box Office $61.88 million;
$29.96 DVD, $39.99 Blu-ray, $42.99 UHD BD;
Rated ‘PG-13’ for some strong language, violence and suggestive references.
Stars Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, Lizzy Caplan, Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt, Rosamund Pike, Morgan Freeman.

The third “Now You See Me” film may be the most frustrating entry in the franchise so far, if only for how the requisite plot twists diminish the story and several key characters upon a second viewing.

As with the first two films, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t follows a team of stage magicians who use their talents to conduct complicated heists against corrupt millionaires to alleviate economic injustices. The target this time around is Veronika Vanderberg, a South African diamond heiress who specializes in money laundering for dangerous international criminals. Exposing her crimes involves not only a reunion of the Horsemen (Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher and Lizzy Caplan) after a 10-year absence, but also recruiting a team of newcomers (Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa and Ariana Greenblatt) who have been impersonating them.

The result is a slick adventure that works a lot better than the nonsensical second film, which drowned itself in plot twists and visual effects. Now You Don’t smartly plays to its biggest strength, the audience’s affection for the characters, which includes Fisher’s return after missing out on the second movie. It’s especially a delight to see her paired with her replacement from Now You See Me 2, Lizzy Caplan, who was left out of the film’s early marketing materials in order to surprise the audience.

The film also delivers a healthy dose of performance magic, which according to the bonus materials was largely achieved practically with in-camera effects. The centerpiece is a showdown in which the characters take turns trying to outdo each other with their magic skills.

However, the film is hampered by the same drawback as the rest of the franchise — the way numerous plot twists redefine not only earlier scenes, but also earlier movies, in ways that don’t make much sense. In fact, Now you Don’t seems dumber on rewatch once it’s understood how the clues were planted in the first place, and it’s obvious that characters are acting surprised at outcomes they themselves planned, for the benefit of no one but the audience.

There’s also a legitimate concern that certain characters shouldn’t be so accepting about the film’s major reveal given the significant consequences of the deception. Compounding the issue is that the home entertainment editions of the film include an alternate ending that eliminates many of the plot holes; it was replaced to make room for a different cameo when leaving it in would have made more sense.

The excised coda is one of 10 deleted and extended scenes that run a total of 13-and-a-half minutes.

Other bonus materials include an informative feature commentary with director Ruben Fleischer and producer Bobby Cohen that provides some interesting tidbits about the making of the film and tie-ins to the previous two.

There are also more than 45 minutes of good behind-the-scenes featurettes, led by the nine-minute “Now You See Me … Again,” which mostly focuses on reuniting the cast for a third film. The eight-and-a-half-minute “Lord of Illusions” looks at Fleischer’s involvement with the project, while the seven-minute “Heart of Stone” details Pike’s role. The six-and-a-half-minute “Quick Change” delves into the film’s costumes, while the eight-and-a-half-minute “Nothing Up My Sleeve” explores the creation of the film’s magic effects using consultants to train the cast, and the four-and-a-half-minute “The Magic Castle” gives viewers a tour of the sets and locations.

The featurettes and deleted scenes are available with both the disc and digital editions of the film, while the commentary is offered just on the discs.

Fandango at Home has an exclusive four-minute “Spellbound Speedyway” featurette about the climactic racecar chase in Abu Dhabi.

Lionsgate Quarterly Home Entertainment Revenue Rises on Theatrical Releases ‘The Long Walk,’ ‘Good Fortune’

Lionsgate Feb. 5 reported third-quarter (ended Dec 31, 2025) motion picture home entertainment revenue of $169 million, up nearly 5% from revenue of $161.7 million in the previous-year period.

Digital movie revenue increased 6.5% to $155.1 million, from $145.7 million. Packaged-media revenue declined 12% to $14.1 million, from $16 million.

The increase in digital media revenue was due to higher revenue of $6.9 million and $2.5 million generated from Lionsgate original releases and licensed movies, respectively.

The increase in motion picture home entertainment revenue was driven by the retail release of horror thriller The Long Walk, which generated $62.8 million at the global box office, and the comedy fantasy Good Fortune ($26.2 million), partially offset by lower revenue from multi-platform releases.

The Long Walk was released across digital channels on Oct. 21, 2025, with the packaged-media release occurring Nov. 25. The title began streaming on Starz Jan. 10.

Good Fortune saw its digital release on Nov. 7, followed by a packaged-media bow on Dec. 9. Its streaming on Starz begins Feb. 14.

Television home entertainment revenue topped $59.2 million, up 3.5% from $57.2 million the year before.
