Disney-owned Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Brave New World<\/em> was No. 1 on the top 10 list of physical-media sales for May 2025, according to Circana’s VideoScan tracking service that compiles DVD and Blu-ray transactions.<\/p>\n

The film finds Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), the new Captain America, in the middle of an international incident and a conspiracy involving newly elected U.S. president Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford). It was released on disc May 13 and spent its first two weeks atop the weekly sales chart.<\/p>\n

No. 2 was Paramount’s Yellowstone: Season 5, Part 2. <\/em>The collection includes the last six episodes of season five of \u201cYellowstone,\u201d which chronicles the exploits of the Dutton family, who control the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. It arrived on disc May 27 and also spent its first two weeks atop the weekly sales chart.<\/p>\n

The No. 3 May sellers was Paramount’s Landman: Season One<\/em>. The Paramount+ show stars Billy Bob Thornton as a bigwig for a Texas oil company. It was released on disc May 13.<\/p>\n

The top seller from April, Paramount Home Entertainment’s Sonic the Hedgehog 3, <\/em>was No. 4 in May. The latest sequel based on the Sega video game series finds Sonic and friends clashing with Shadow the Hedgehog, while Dr. Robotnik teams with his long-lost grandfather to deploy a superweapon against the Earth.<\/p>\n

No. 5 was another May 13 disc release, Warner’s Mickey 17, <\/em>a sci-fi comedy from director Bong Joon Ho. The film stars Robert Pattinson as a man who is repeatedly cloned to perform dangerous jobs on a mission to colonize an ice planet. <\/p>\n

Universal’s Wicked <\/em>was No. 6, the same position it had in April, and remained the top seller for the year to date. Based on the first half of the hit Broadway musical of the same name, the film serves as a prequel to The Wizard of Oz<\/em> about the rise to power of Glinda the Good Witch and Elphaba, who becomes the Wicked Witch of the West.<\/p>\n

On the year-to-date disc sales chart, the top four titles remained the same, while Sonic the Hedgehog 3<\/em> moved up to No. 5, swapping places with Paramount’s Gladiator II.<\/em><\/p>\n

Captain America: Brave New World<\/em> entered the year-to-date chart at No. 7. That pushed Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King<\/em> of the year’s top 10 sellers list.<\/p>\n
