Warner Bros. Pictures’ One Battle After Another<\/em> with 14 nominations, and period horror film Sinners<\/em>, with 13, topped the 79th EE BAFTA Film Awards, honoring the best in U.K. filmed entertainment.<\/p>\n

Leading Actor nominees included Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another<\/em>), Michael B. Jordan (Sinners<\/em>), Jesse Plemons (Bugonia<\/em>), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon<\/em>), Robert Aramayo (I Swear<\/em>), and Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet (Marty Supreme<\/em>).<\/span><\/p>\n

Leading Actress nominees included Jessie Buckley (Hamnet<\/em>), Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs, I’d Kick You<\/em>), Chase Infiniti (One Battle After Another<\/em>), Emma Stone (Bugonia<\/em>), Renata Reinsve (Sentimental Value<\/em>) and Kate Hudson (Song Sung Blue<\/em>).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Best Director category, two of the six directors are first-time nominees \u2014 Ryan Coogler for Sinners<\/em> and Josh Safdie for Marty Supreme<\/em>. Other nominees include Paul Thomas Anderson (One Battle After Another<\/em>), Yorgos Lanthitmos (Bugonia<\/em>), Joachim Trier (Sentimental Value<\/em>) and Chloe Zhao (Hamnet<\/em>).<\/span><\/p>\n

Other top-nominated movies included Focus Features Hamnet\u00a0<\/span><\/i>and a24’s <\/span>Marty Supreme<\/span><\/i> with 11 nominations each.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Netflix’s Frankenstein<\/em> and Neon’s Sentimental Value<\/em> each generated eight nominations, while indie release<\/span>\u00a0I Swear\u00a0<\/span><\/i>and Focus Features’ <\/span>Bugonia<\/span><\/i> received five noms each.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Focus Features’ The Ballad of Wallis Island,<\/span><\/i> A24’s Pillion<\/em> and Apple Original Films’<\/span> F1: The Movie <\/span><\/i>earned three nominations apiece. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Movies receiving two nominations included Neon’s <\/span>The Secret Agent<\/span><\/i>, Universal Pictures’ Wicked: For Good<\/span><\/i> and Disney’s\u00a0 <\/span>Zootopia <\/span><\/i>2.<\/p>\n

First time BAFTA nominees in the performance categories included Robert Aramayo (I Swear<\/em>), Odessa A\u2019zion (Marty Supreme<\/em>), Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs, I’d Kick You<\/em>), Chase Infiniti (One Battle After Another<\/em>), Michael B. Jordan (Sinners<\/em>), Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Stellan Skarsg\u00e5rd (Sentimental Value<\/em>), and Teyana Taylor (One Battle After Another<\/em>).<\/span><\/p>\n

Three BAFTA Breakthroughs are nominated: Jessie Buckley (Hamnet<\/em>), Akinola Davies Jr. (My Father’s Shadow<\/em>), and Chase Infiniti (One Battle After Another<\/em>).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The nominees for the EE Rising Star Award included Archie Madekwe (Lurker<\/em>), Infiniti (One Battle After Another<\/em>), Miles Caton (Sinners<\/em>), Posy Sterling (Playing Nice<\/em>), and Aramayo (I Swear<\/em>). It is the only award voted for by the British public and it is presented annually to a performer who has demonstrated exceptional talent early in their careers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Six former and current EE Rising Stars nominated included Aramayo (I Swear<\/em>), Jessie Buckley (Hamnet<\/em>), Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet (Marty Supreme<\/em>), Jacob Elordi (Frankenstein<\/em>), Infiniti (One Battle After Another<\/em>) and Carey Mulligan (The Ballad of Wallis Island<\/em>).<\/span><\/p>\n

“Huge congratulations to the teams behind the 46 superb films nominated today,” Jane Millichip, CEO of BAFTA, said in a statement. “They showcase the very best of storytelling\u00a0 and its ability to engage, entertain and provoke debate. This year\u2019s nominated films are full of bold storytelling and exquisite craft. And the breadth of narrative, genres and styles is spellbinding.”<\/p>\n

Winners will be announced at the EE BAFTA Films Awards on Feb. 22.<\/p>\n
