AMC Entertainment, the nation’s largest theatrical movie exhibitor, Feb. 23 reported a decline of more than 3.2 million moviegoers in the fourth quarter (ended Dec. 31, 2025). For 2025, attendance dropped 10%.<\/p>\n

AMC said 39.7 million people bought movie tickets in the quarter, compared with almost 43 million people in the previous-year period. For the year, 155.8 million moviegoers attended AMC Theatres screenings, compared with 156.8 million in 2024.<\/p>\n

Revenue in the quarter dropped 1.1% to $1.29 billion, from $1.3 billion, despite a 5% increase in average movie ticket pricing to $13, from $12.45. The net loss declined 6% to $127.4 million, from $135.6 million.<\/p>\n

For the fiscal year, the net loss ballooned nearly 80% to $632.4 million, from a loss of $352.6 million in 2024.<\/p>\n

AMC operated more than 7,000 screens in North America, down from 7,130 screens in the prior year period.<\/p>\n

In a statement, AMC CEO Adam Aron said the key to AMC’s fiscal success remains in the hands of Hollywood.<\/p>\n

“As I have said many times before, the not-so-secret formula to a full box\u2011office recovery is straight forward. We need more great movies from our studio partners,” Aron said.<\/p>\n
