‘Dog Man’ Tops Weekly Fandango at Home Chart Through March 16

DreamWorks Animation’s Dog Man led the chart of the top 10 titles on Fandango’s transactional digital service Fandango at Home for the week ended March 16.

In the animated film based on the book series, when a faithful police dog and his human police officer owner are injured on the job, a harebrained surgery fuses the two of them together and Dog Man is born. As he embraces his new identity, Dog Man must stop the villainous Petey the Cat (Pete Davidson of “Saturday Night Live”) from cloning himself and creating an evil kitten, doubling his evil abilities. The title became available for premium digital rental and sale Feb. 18 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.

Rising two spots to No. 2 on the chart was Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King. The prequel to 2019’s The Lion King details Mufasa’s rise to become king of the Pridelands. It became available for premium digital rental and sale Feb. 18.

Falling a spot to No. 3 on the chart was Sony Pictures’ horror film Heart Eyes, available for premium digital and rental and sale. In the film, the “Heart Eyes Killer” wreaks havoc on Valentine’s Day by stalking and murdering romantic couples.

Falling from the top spot to No. 4 on the chart was Universal Pictures’ Wicked. The movie adaptation of the first half of the Broadway musical about the origins of the witches of Oz stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo and is directed by Jon Chu. The film, which earned 10 Oscar nominations and won awards for Best Costume Design and Best Production Design, is available for digital rental and regular digital purchase (after a premium-priced run).
