Pluto TV Celebrating ‘Summer of Cinema’ With Mall Contest

Pluto TV is celebrating the kick-off of its “Summer of Cinema,” a tentpole programming initiative that brings popular films to the service for the summer, with an interactive stunt mall goers can enjoy while testing their luck.

The free streaming service is taking over Westfield Century City mall in Los Angeles with Pluto TV’s Popcorn Challenge, a giant popcorn box filled with flying popcorn. Mall guests are welcome to step into the box and will be given 20 seconds — on a giant countdown clock — to catch as much popcorn as possible for the chance to win prizes.

The contest is open and free to the public in the Atrium at Westfield Century City June 13-14 starting at noon and running until 8 p.m. PT.

All who participate in Pluto TV’s Popcorn Challenge can enjoy a complimentary bag of popcorn as they take a spin at winning prizes centered around the classic cinema-going snack and summer fun. Those who catch the most flying popcorn — and special golden kernels — will have the opportunity to win a selection of prizes including Pluto TV beach kits, gourmet movie night snack boxes, bluetooth headphones and speakers, and more.

Pluto TV’s “Summer of Cinema” features hundreds of films and franchises including “Mission: Impossible,” “Indiana Jones,” “Terminator,” “Star Trek,” Interstellar and Wolf of Wall Street across the service, all for free.
