February 23, 2026
Universal Pictures Home Entertainment’s Wicked: For Good was No. 1 on the top 10 list of physical-media sales for January 2026, according to Circana’s VideoScan tracking service that compiles DVD and Blu-ray transactions.
The sequel to 2024’s Wicked adapts the second half of the 2003 Broadway musical of the same name, which itself is based on a 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire that explores the backstories of the witches featured in The Wizard of Oz. The film stars Ariana Grande as Glinda the Good Witch, and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West. For Good finds the former friends estranged, with Elphaba living in exile and embracing her reputation as the villain, while Glinda basks in her fame and popularity, until a girl from Kansas changes the political scene in Oz forever. The film was released on disc Jan. 20 and spent its first four weeks atop the disc sales charts after earning $342.9 million at the domestic box office.
The first installment was the top disc seller for all of 2025. A collection of both “Wicked” films was No. 4 in January.
No. 2 in January was Disney’s Tron: Ares, which was released on disc Jan. 6. The third “Tron” movie stars Jared Leto as a warrior program caught between the rivalry between two tech corporations who seeks the code to remain alive in the real world. It earned $73.2 million at the domestic box office and spent two weeks atop the weekly disc sales chart.
The No. 3 disc seller in January was Warner’s One Battle After Another. The film from writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a washed-up former member of a terrorist group who comes out of hiding when his daughter is hunted by a racist military officer. The film earned $72.2 million at the domestic box office and was also released on disc Jan. 20.
Climbing back into the monthly top 10, at No. 5, was Warner’s Sinners, which was released on disc back in July and ended up as the No. 12 seller for 2025. The Oscar-nominated horror flick from director Ryan Coogler stars Michael B. Jordan as twin brothers and former mob enforcers who return to their hometown to open a blues club, which is promptly attacked by vampires. The cast also includes Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Miller and Delroy Lindo.

The seventh film in the “Jurassic” franchise follows a team of mercenaries hired by a medical research company to retrieve DNA from rare dinosaurs living on a tropical island that once housed a research facility that conducted genetic experiments.
No. 7 was DC Studios’ Superman reboot from Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment, after landing at the No. 3 spot in both December and 2025 as a whole. From director James Gunn, the creative boss of DC Studios, the new Superman finds the Man of Steel (David Corenswet) facing international controversy after intervening in a foreign war, while Lex Luthor (Nicholas Holt) reveals a dangerous secret about Superman’s home planet of Krypton.
January’s No. 8 seller was Lionsgate’s Dec. 9 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc re-issue of director Kevin Smith’s fourth film, 1999’s Dogma.
