Electric Entertainment Promotes Erica Small to VP, Business and Legal Affairs

Los Angeles-based production and distribution company Electric Entertainment has promoted Erica Small to VP of business and legal affairs.
In her new role, she will work on contracts for acquisitions, among other responsibilities. Small will continue to manage day-to-day business and legal affairs operations for all aspects of development and production for Electric Entertainment projects, including TV series, films, live events and podcasts.
She will continue to report to Craig Gates, head of business and legal affairs at Electric Entertainment.
“Erica has been a pivotal member of the Legal Department over the years and continues to demonstrate remarkable growth and leadership as her role expands within the team,” Gates said in a statement. “I look forward to continuing to work with her as she takes on her additional responsibilities.”
Small will continue to serve as lead production counsel for all of Electric’s original films and TV series, handling legal matters throughout the course of the project. She is responsible for structuring, drafting, reviewing, revising, and negotiating talent and production agreements, including but not limited to rights options, acquisitions, and licensing. She is also responsible for evaluating rights issues and clearances for the above-mentioned projects, as well as advising all in-house teams on a multitude of legal matters.
