An estimated 24.6 million TV viewers tuned in on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, to watch the second inauguration of Donald Trump as 47th president of the United States, according to new data from Nielsen.
The tally, which peaked at 34.4 million viewers during the 12:15 p.m. quarter-hour, was down about 20% from the 30.6 million who watched Trump’s first inauguration in 2017, and 27% below President Biden’s 33.8 million viewers in 2021.
The data comes from networks ABC, CBS, NBC, Merit Street Media, Telemundo, Univision, CNBC, CNN, CNNe, Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network, MSNBC, Newsmax, NewsNation, and PBS.
