March 10, 2025
Universal Pictures’ Wicked was popular the week ended March 9, leading the chart of the top 10 titles on Fandango’s transactional digital service Fandango at Home.
The movie adaptation of the first half of the Broadway musical about the origins of the witches of Oz stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo and is directed by Jon Chu. The film, which earned 10 Oscar nominations and won awards for Best Costume Design and Best Production Design, is available for digital rental and is discounted for digital purchase.
Debuting at No. 2 on the chart was Sony Pictures’ horror film Heart Eyes, available for premium digital and rental and sale. In the film, the “Heart Eyes Killer” wreaks havoc on Valentine’s Day by stalking and murdering romantic couples.
Falling from No. 2 to No. 3 on the chart was DreamWorks Animation’s Dog Man, which became available for premium digital rental and sale Feb. 18 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. In the animated film based on the book series, when a faithful police dog and his human police officer owner are injured on the job, a harebrained surgery fuses the two of them together and Dog Man is born. As he embraces his new identity, Dog Man must stop the villainous Petey the Cat (Pete Davidson, “Saturday Night Live”) from cloning himself and creating an evil kitten, doubling his evil abilities.
Falling from the top spot to No. 4 on the chart was Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King. The prequel to 2019’s The Lion King details Mufasa’s rise to become king of the Pridelands. It became available for premium digital rental and sale Feb. 18.
Remaining at No. 5 on the chart was Disney’s Moana 2, available for regular digital purchase after a premium run. The animated film, a sequel to 2016’s Moana, reunites Moana (voiced by Auli’i Cravalho) and Maui (Dwayne Johnson) three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters.
