Peacock Upped Winter Olympics Streaming Minutes 114% to 14.8 Billion — Before Sunday’s U.S. Men’s Gold Medal-Winning Hockey Match

NBCUniversal’s Peacock streaming platform, along with other digital properties, generated 14.8 billion minutes of Milan Cortina Winter Olympics streaming views through Feb. 20, up 114% from 6.9 billion minutes streamed during the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics four years ago, according to new data from Nielsen and Adobe Analytics.

Prime time coverage of the Games across NBC Sports and streaming averaged 24 million viewers across both afternoon (2-5 p.m. EST) and evening coverage (8-11 p.m.), up 94% from 12.4 million average viewers in Beijing.

The 2024 Paris Summer Games average viewership increased 82% from from the pandemic-delayed 2021 Tokyo Summer Games.

“I think that the Paris Games deserve a lot of the credit for rejuvenating that [viewing] interest and enthusiasm, and some of that momentum continued through to Milan,” Rich Cordella, president of NBC Sports, said in a statement.

Final TV and streaming viewership data from the Milan Games is expected by Feb. 24.
