Sony/Crunchyroll’s ‘Chainsaw Man’ Tackles Bruce Springsteen Biopic ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’ at Weekend Box Office
October 24, 2025
Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc, the latest ‘R’-rated anime movie from Sony/Crunchyroll, is projected to top the weekend box office with $17 million in ticket sales through Oct. 26. The movie sold $3 million in Thursday (Oct. 23) preview screenings.
One of four new releases this weekend, Reze Arc is expected to surpass 20th Century Studios’ biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere (projected $11.2 million), Paramount Pictures’ romance drama Regretting You (projected $11.1 million), starring Mckenna Grace and Mason Thames, and Neon’s ‘R’-rated supernatural horror movie Shelby Oaks (projected $2.9 million).
“While neither Deliver Me or Regretting is expected to storm the box office this weekend, both films will benefit by having built-in fanbases and there likely won’t be all that much overlap between the audiences,” Daniel Garris, with BoxOfficeReport.com, wrote in an online post.
Meanwhile, the former box office champ, Universal’s Black Phone 2, starring Ethan Hawke and Mason Thames, is expected to finish at No. 2 over the weekend with $12.9 million in ticket sales, upping its 10-day tally near $50 million.
Disney’s Tron: Ares is expected to rank No. 5 over the weekend with a projected $4.4 million in ticket sales, down 60% from its second-weekend box office take. Other box office returnees include Lionsgate’s Good Fortune (projected $3 million), Warner’s One Battle After Another ($1.9 million), and Paramount/Miramax’s Roofman ($1.8 million).
