‘Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale’ Was November’s No. 1 Disc Seller; ‘Wicked’ Remains 2025’s Top Title
December 9, 2025
Universal Pictures’ Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale was No. 1 on the top 10 list of physical-media sales for November 2025, according to Circana’s VideoScan tracking service that compiles DVD and Blu-ray Disc transactions.
Released on disc Dec. 11, the film culminates 15 years of drama that began with the PBS television series “Downton Abbey” in 2010. The third film follows the Crawley family and their staff as they enter the 1930s. When Mary finds herself at the center of a public scandal and the family faces financial trouble, the entire household grapples with the threat of social disgrace. The Crawleys must embrace change as the staff prepares for a new chapter with the next generation leading Downton Abbey into the future. The film made $45 million at the domestic box office and topped the disc sales chart its debut week.
No. 2 in November was Universal’s The Grinch, the 2018 animated adaptation of the classic 1957 Dr. Seuss book How the Grinch Stole Christmas! with Benedict Cumberbatch voicing the title character. In the lead-up to the Christmas season, The Grinch, which first arrived on disc Feb. 5, 2019, topped the disc sales chart the week ended Nov. 22.
Up to No. 3 was Universal Pictures’ Jurassic World Rebirth, after taking the sixth spot in October. The seventh film in the “Jurassic” franchise follows a team of mercenaries hired by a medical research company to retrieve DNA from rare dinosaurs living on a tropical island that once housed a research facility that conducted genetic experiments.
No. 4 was DC Studios’ Superman reboot from Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment, three spots better than its October chart placement. From director James Gunn, the creative boss of DC Studios, the new Superman finds the Man of Steel (David Corenswet) facing international controversy after intervening in a foreign war, while Lex Luthor (Nicholas Holt) reveals a dangerous secret about Superman’s home planet of Krypton.
November’s No. 5 seller was Paramount’s relaunch of The Naked Gun, starring Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson. Neeson takes on the role of Frank Drebin Jr., son of Frank Drebin (the late Leslie Nielsen), delivering a barrage of gags, absurdity and silliness, as L.A.’s Police Squad unit investigates a billionaire’s plot to take over society using a brainwashing device. The Naked Gun was released on disc Nov. 11 after grabbing $52.6 million at the domestic box office.
No. 6 for November was Paramount’s Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning. The eighth “Mission: Impossible” film deals with Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team confronting a rogue AI program that seeks to wipe out humanity. Final Reckoning occupied second place in October.

The top seller from October, Disney-owned Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps, dropped to No. 7 in November. The 37th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Fantastic Four: First Steps reboots the franchise featuring the classic Marvel superhero team, as they defend Earth against Galactus, an existential threat to humanity who seeks to devour the planet.
Warner and Apple’s F1: The Movie was No. 8 on the November chart, down three spots from October. The film stars Brad Pitt as listless racecar driver who is recruited by an old friend to drive for a Formula One team desperate for a win.
Climbing back into the monthly to 10 for the first time since May was Universal’s Wicked, which was No. 9 in November. The musical, which adapts the first half of the 2003 Broadway production that reimagines the backstory of characters from The Wizard of Oz, has been 2025’s seller since its release on disc in February. Its latest boost comes via the theatrical release of the sequel, Wicked: For Good, which covers the second half of the stage musical.
No. 10 in November was 2000’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Universal’s live-action adaptation of the Dr. Seuss book starring Jim Carrey as the green meanie. It jumped up from No. 177 in October thanks to a new 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray edition that was released Nov. 11.
On the year-to-date disc sales chart, the momentum boost Wicked received from its sequel’s theatrical release is likely to cement it as the year’s top seller despite a month remaining, even as Jurassic World Rebirth continues to surge at No. 2.
Sony Pictures’ Venom: The Last Dance remained No. 3, while Superman jumped up two spots to No. 4, pushing Disney-owned Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* and Captain America: Brave New World down a spot to No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, as the year’s big superhero titles bunched up around the middle of the chart.
Universal’s live-action How to Train Your Dragon moved up a spot to No. 7, switching places with the same studio’s Nosferatu remake. Warner’s A Minecraft Movie climbed a spot to No. 9, while Lionsgate’s Ballerina: From the World of John Wick rose two spots to No. 10.
Paramount’s Sonic the Hedgehog 3 fell out of the top 10.
